Our Team

This is a family practice. Jose Salloum and Michael Salloum work in it together, on the same contracts and the same households. Jose has been licensed since 2001, which puts twenty-four completed years behind the work and the twenty-fifth now under way. A participating whole life contract runs for decades, and the same family is here to review the funding, the dividend option and the loan position year after year.

The two advisors you will deal with

This is a family practice, and that is the first thing worth knowing about it. Jose Salloum and Michael Salloum work in it together, twenty-four years of that work behind them, and a household that starts here is looked after by the same two people for as long as the contract runs.

Michael Salloum

Michael Salloum

Advisor

An advisor at Canadian Wealth Creation Centre Inc., in the practice since 2018.

Michael works with Jose on the same contracts, the same annual reviews and the same households, and he holds the Infinite Banking Concepts® Authorized Practitioner certification from the Nelson Nash Institute, held since 2022.

Licensing, registers and how he is paid

Administrative, new business and compliance staff support the practice behind the scenes and keep the paperwork moving. They are not listed here because none of them is licensed to advise, and the two names above are the ones who will be in the room with you.

This is a family practice, and that is the first thing to know about it. Jose Salloum and Michael Salloum work in it together, on the same contracts and the same households, and the people who arrange your contract are the people still there to service it.

Twenty-four years sit behind that work, and the twenty-fifth is beginning. Jose has been licensed since 2001, long enough to have watched contracts written in the early years mature into what they were designed to do.

Jose Salloum

Financial Security Advisor, conseiller en sécurité financière, certified by the Autorité des marchés financiers in Quebec.

Also licensed in Ontario as a Life and Accident and Sickness Insurance Agent under the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario, and in British Columbia as a Life Insurance Agent under the Insurance Council of British Columbia.

Licensed since 2001, and working since 2015 with the approach Nelson Nash described as The Infinite Banking Concept®, a registered mark of Infinite Banking Concepts, LLC, with which this practice has no affiliation. Infinite Banking Concepts® Authorized Practitioner, a designation from the Nelson Nash Institute: the examination was passed in 2019 and the certification has been held since February 2020.

Those years are the point of a practice like this one. A participating whole life contract is a long instrument, and the value of an advisor who has been in the same work since 2001 is that he has already seen how these contracts behave through a decade the illustration did not predict.

Michael Salloum

An advisor at Canadian Wealth Creation Centre Inc., and part of the practice since 2018. He works with Jose on the same files rather than beside him on separate ones, which is what makes the continuity real rather than promised.

Infinite Banking Concepts® Authorized Practitioner, a certification from the Nelson Nash Institute, held since 2022. He came to the work the way Jose did, by studying it properly before offering it to anybody, and he has kept studying it since.

A family practice, and what that gives a household

A family business answers the telephone differently. There is no desk to be passed along, no file handed to whoever is next on a rota, and no situation to be explained twice.

Two people know your contract. Both have read it, both have sat in the meetings, and either can take the annual review without you having to start at the beginning again.

That matters because of what the contract is. A participating whole life contract is designed to run for the whole of a life, and the household that owns one will have questions in year three, year eleven and year twenty-six.

A practice built around a family is built for that timescale. It is arranged around a number of households that two advisors can genuinely look after over decades, which is the only period on which a permanent contract is measured.

Twenty-four years, and the twenty-fifth beginning

Jose has been licensed since 2001. That is twenty-four completed years, with the twenty-fifth now under way.

A run of that length is worth something specific. The contracts arranged in the early years are now old enough to show their dividend history, their cash value curve and their loan behaviour across a full economic cycle rather than a projection of one.

It also means the questions have been asked before. Very little that a household brings to a first meeting is unfamiliar here, and an answer given carefully several hundred times is usually a better answer than one worked out on the spot.

The twenty-fifth year is simply the next year of the work. More reviews, more renewals, more telephone calls answered by somebody who remembers the design meeting, which is what the twenty-four before it were made of.

Service after the contract is placed

A contract is arranged once and serviced for the rest of its life, and that is where most of the work in this practice actually sits.

Funding is reviewed. A contract designed around a level of deposit should be checked against what the household is genuinely able to put in, year by year, and adjusted deliberately rather than by default.

The dividend option is reviewed. Where it is directed decides how the contract grows, and the right answer at fifty is not always the right answer at seventy.

The loan position is reviewed. Anything borrowed against the contract accrues interest and reduces what is payable at death until it is repaid, so the balance is looked at every year and repayment is planned rather than assumed.

Depth in one approach rather than a little of everything

This practice does one thing. Participating whole life insurance, and the strategy that uses those contracts to hold and access capital, is the whole of the work rather than one line on a longer menu.

Depth is the reason for that. The exempt test, the adjusted cost basis, the capital dividend account and the way a dividend scale actually moves are not subjects that can be held properly alongside a dozen unrelated products.

And the learning does not stop. Both advisors keep current through the Nelson Nash Institute, through the insurers' own product training, and through the continuing education their provincial regulators require to keep a licence in force.

What we bring, and what stays with your own professionals

This practice arranges and services participating whole life insurance. That is the offering, stated plainly, and everything on this site is written to explain it.

Not a bank, and not affiliated with one. Nothing here is a deposit and nothing is insured by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Not financial planners. That title is protected by statute in Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick and requires a credential this practice does not claim.

Paid by commission from the insurer when a contract is arranged, with a smaller renewal amount in the years afterwards. That is set out here rather than left to be assumed, and it is the part that funds the service after the sale.

Your accountant and your lawyer stay yours. An accountant who understands how these contracts meet the Income Tax Act, and a lawyer for anything touching an estate or a corporation, makes the whole design better.

This practice is glad to sit in a room with both of them. A design that has been read by the household's own advisers is a stronger design, and questions from them are welcome rather than resisted.

How the practice is structured

Canadian Wealth Creation Centre Inc. is the firm. IBC Financial is the educational side of it, which is what this website is.

Every client relationship, every piece of advice and every insurance product comes through Canadian Wealth Creation Centre Inc. and its certified representatives. IBC Financial is an education platform and a trade name: it holds no licence, distributes no product and gives no individualised advice, and keeping the two apart is what lets this site teach freely.

The practice operates from Laval, Quebec, and works with households in the provinces set out on the locations pages.

How we describe our experience

Five dates matter and they are kept separate on this site: licensing in 2001, work with this approach from 2015, the firm incorporated in 2016, the Nelson Nash Institute examination passed in 2019, and the certification that followed from February 2020.

Each of those years refers to one specific thing, and the twenty-four years quoted at the top of this page is the licensing one. Where a year appears on this site, it means exactly what it says.

Where the practice acts, and how to see it for yourself

Jose is personally licensed in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia, and the firm places insurance more widely. The locations section sets out which applies where, and the provinces where this practice is not licensed are named as well, with the register to use instead.

All of it sits on a public record. In Quebec the Autorité des marchés financiers publishes a register of certified representatives; in Ontario the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario publishes a licensee search; in British Columbia the Insurance Council of British Columbia publishes one too.

All three are free and take a few minutes. Being looked up is a pleasant part of the job here, and the registers are named on this page so that the search is easy rather than a chore.

What the registers show is what this page says. The titles above are the ones actually held, in the provinces actually held, and a reader who checks will find the page and the register saying the same thing.

A thirty-minute discovery meeting

A first conversation establishes whether this fits. No illustration is prepared and nothing is arranged.

Often the answer is no, and you will hear it during the call rather than in a proposal afterwards.

Common questions

How long has this practice been doing this work?

Jose Salloum has been licensed since 2001, which is twenty-four completed years with the twenty-fifth now under way, and he has worked with this particular approach since 2015. Michael Salloum joined the practice in 2018. What a run of that length gives a household is not a slogan, it is a record: the contracts arranged in the early years are now old enough to show their dividend history, their cash value curve and their loan behaviour across a full economic cycle rather than a projection of one. Very little that arrives at a first meeting is unfamiliar here, and an answer given carefully several hundred times is usually a better answer than one worked out on the spot.

Who will I actually be dealing with?

Both of them, and the same two of them every time. Jose and Michael work on the same files rather than dividing the client list between them, so there is no desk to be passed along, no file handed to whoever is next on a rota, and no need to explain your situation twice. When you telephone, one of the two people who designed your contract answers, and the other one has read it. Administrative and new business staff support the practice and handle the paperwork, and they are excellent at it, but the advice and the annual review come from the two names on this page.

What happens to my contract in twenty years?

It keeps being serviced by this practice, which is the reason the practice is built the way it is. A participating whole life contract is designed to run for the whole of a life, and a household that owns one will have questions in year three, year eleven and year twenty-six. Two advisors in one family, one of them a generation younger, is a straightforward answer to that timescale. The insurer stands behind the contract itself in every case. What this practice adds on top of the insurer is the attention: somebody who remembers why the contract was designed the way it was, and who is still here to say so.

What does service after the contract is placed actually look like?

A review every year, and a standing invitation to telephone between them. The review covers three things. Funding, because a contract designed around a level of deposit should be checked against what the household is actually able to put in, and adjusted deliberately rather than by default. The dividend option, because where the annual dividend goes decides how the contract grows, and the right answer at fifty is not always the right answer at seventy. And the loan position, because anything borrowed against the contract accrues interest and reduces what is payable at death until it is repaid, so the balance is looked at yearly and repayment is planned rather than assumed.

Can I meet both of you?

Yes, and most households do. A first meeting is usually with one of the two, and the second joins for the design meeting where the numbers are on the table, because two sets of eyes on a contract that will run for fifty years is simply better work. After that, either of them can take your annual review. Meetings happen in the office in Laval, at your kitchen table where distance allows, or by video, and the choice is yours. Bringing a spouse, an adult child or your accountant along is welcome and often useful, since these contracts touch more than one person by design.

How do you keep learning about this approach?

Continuously, and in three separate ways. Both advisors hold the Infinite Banking Concepts® Authorized Practitioner certification from the Nelson Nash Institute, and both keep current through the Institute's ongoing programme. Both sit through the insurers' own product training, which is where changes to dividend scales, riders and underwriting rules are explained first. And both complete the continuing education their provincial regulators require to keep a licence in force. The depth comes from doing one thing: participating whole life insurance and the strategy that uses it is the whole of the work here rather than one line on a longer menu.

Why does it matter that this is a family practice?

Because the product is measured in decades and most advisory relationships are not. A family practice is arranged around continuity by its nature: the knowledge is shared at the dinner table as much as in the office, the same standards carry from one advisor to the next, and the number of households taken on is deliberately kept to what two people can genuinely look after over that period. It also changes how the telephone is answered. You are not a case number moving through a queue, you are a household two people know by name, and that counts for more in year fifteen than it does in year one.

What do you handle, and what stays with my accountant and lawyer?

This practice arranges and services participating whole life insurance, and teaches the strategy that uses those contracts to hold and access capital. That is the offering, stated plainly. Your accountant and your lawyer stay yours, and they should. An accountant who understands how these contracts meet the Income Tax Act, and a lawyer for anything touching an estate or a corporation, make the whole design better, and this practice is glad to sit in a room with both and answer their questions directly. Nobody here uses a title that is protected by statute, and the licensed titles set out on this page are the ones actually held.

How are you paid?

By commission, paid by the insurer when a contract is arranged, and by a smaller renewal amount in the years afterwards while the contract stays in force. It is set out here rather than left to be assumed, and it is an entirely ordinary thing to ask about at a first meeting. The renewal portion is worth knowing about, because it is the part that pays for the service after the sale: the annual review, the loan conversation and the telephone call in year nineteen are funded by a contract staying healthy, which puts the practice and the household on the same side of the table.
